 Edge Lettering BlockThe edge lettering block created the incuse edge lettering on the 50 Sen. The words BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA are raised inside the channel on the block, and as coins are sent through the channel, incuse lettering is pressed into each edge of each coin. The second piece in the set is the actual edge lettering tool that created the incuse edge lettering in the channel of the edge lettering block. It has the raised edge lettering BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA around its circumference. Edge lettering on coins started to make headline news in 2007 when thousands of the U.S. series of Presidential dollars were struck without the edge lettering. |
