This is a unique proof uniface reverse die trial strike of a Guernsey 3D (3 Pence). It is struck on a 4.8 gram scrap planchet. This is a new discovery and is not listed in any reference books.

The 3D (3 Pence) was struck only for 2 years, 1959 and 1966. The 1966 issue was proof only with a low mintage of 10,000. The obverse portrays the coat of arms. The reverse shows the Guernsey cow. This issue was struck on a scallop-shaped planchet and is copper nickel. KM lists it as #18.

Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands in the English Channel near the French coast. It is a self-governing British Crown dependency. Queen Elizabeth II is the ruler.

It is a dramatic proof uniface die trial strike on a large scrap planchet with only the reverse die.
