1897 $5 Liberty Gold
Struck Off-Center

All Major Gold Errors are very scarce. There are a few $2½ Indians known that are struck 3-5% off-center. Any off-center in a larger denomination is extremely rare.

This 1897 $5 Liberty was struck off-center. It is also very conservatively graded and looks Mint State. It is fully struck and has much of the original luster. It is very attractive and has no major marks or blemishes that are distracting to the eye. As with all off-centers this coin has NO REEDING, since it was struck out of the collar. This is only the second off-center $5 Liberty that we have handled since it is very rare in larger denominations.
