This is the only known incomplete punched planchet for the entire series of Buffalo Nickels struck from 1913 though 1937.

It is from the famous Bob Entlich Buffalo Nickel Mint Error Collection, which was and still is the finest and most complete collection of Buffalo Nickel mint errors ever assembled.

Incomplete clips occur when the blanking die does not punch all the way through the planchet strip. The strip then moves forward slightly, and the blanking press punches planchets out, overlapping the partially punched out area.

This is a rare mint error even on modern U.S. coinage, but this Buffalo Nickel incomplete punched planchet is unique.
