1844-O $10 Liberty Gold
No Motto
Full Partial Collar
Almost Uncirculated

All US Gold Errors are very scarce and in great demand. This $10 Liberty Gold major mint error is extremely rare for several reasons:

  • It is a no motto from the Branch Mint in New Orleans, which produced only a few gold errors.

  • It is one of the largest denominations in which gold coins were carefully examined for any mint errors before they are released into circulation.

  • It is a scarce type coin, a better date no motto, and over 150 years old.

  • It is a full partial collar. Over 50% of the reeding is missing all the way around.

  • It is in almost uncirculated condition (AU 50) with a light red and orange toning. It has an attractive overall look.

Earlier this year, this rare gold error was featured and photographed in a Coin World article. A rarity worthy of the finest US Gold or mint error collection.
