1921 Morgan Dollar
Double Struck in Collar
10° Rotation Between Strikes
PCGS AU 58
SOLD

slab slab

All double struck Morgan Dollars are extremely rare. There are only a handful known including this specimen, which is in almost mint state condition. This rare Morgan Dollar was double struck in the collar with a 10° rotation and there is distinct separation between the two strikes.

On the obverse there is considerable detail from the original strike in the date, stars, and E Pluribus Unum. In addition, there is an outline of the double profile and portrait.

On the reverse the separation is most visible in United States of America and One Dollar. There are two outlines of the eagle as well as two sets of denticles.

There are two sets of reeding visible on the edge, since the coin didn't eject from the collar after the first strike.

This extremely rare double struck Morgan Dollar would be the highlight of any mint error collection or Morgan Dollar collection by date and mint mark.
